My child already uses the school bus service. Do I need to re-register?
If your child was registered to use the bus last session you do not need to re-register. Your booking will be rolled over and mirror the exact booked stop and route from last year.  However, should you wish to change your booking or choose not to use the service any longer, you will need to email kelvinsideacademy@studentsafe.com to make these amendments or cancellation.

How do I register?
To register, simply click on the “register” button located at the bottom of the parent app. You’ll need to provide your email address, which must match the one you’ve registered with the School for security reasons. The system will then send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to your registered mobile number for verification. Once entered, you’ll be prompted to set up your password.

My email will not work when registering?
Please make sure you are using the email address that you have given as your iSAMS primary email contact. Please email the School at reception@kelvinside.org if you need to check this.

When registering my email, I didn’t receive a 6-digit code?
If you do not receive a code, then your mobile telephone number does not match the records held on iSAMS by the School. Please email the School at reception@kelvinside.org  to check your phone number details.

Where can I find the bus routes and timetables?
You can find detailed bus routes and timetables on this website. Explore each route to see bus stops and departure/arrival times.

How much does the service cost?
There is a one-off administration charge of £100 per child per year. Once registration is confirmed, there is a £3 charge made each day your child uses the service – irrespective of whether a child uses the bus both morning and afternoon – or just one way. There is a maximum daily charge of £6 per family to support families of more than two children.

How do I book a regular place on the bus for my child?
Bookings can be made via this website. Routes and timetable information can be viewed. The search facility provides the opportunity to find the closest stops to your home address.   Only request one time on each route per day.

How do I cancel / give notice for the bus service?
The first full week of term allow families to trial the bus and to withdraw from the service if it is not working for them. This must be indicated in an email to Reception by August 29, 2024. Thereafter the £100 administration fee is non-refundable for any reason.

How should payment of the annual administration fee be made?
Once a child is registered for a bus route on the Kelvinside Academy Transport Hub, a charge for the £100 administration fee will appear on your termly fee invoice.  Please note that after a full week settling in period, from the start of the Autumn Term, to verify that the bus services works for your family, the £100 administration fee is non-refundable for any reason.

If my child is sick or not going to be in for the day, do I need to cancel for that day, even though I have paid for it?
There is no need to inform us of your child’s absence.  The driver will leave the stop at the given time – they do not wait for specific pupils.

What if I need to amend my travel arrangements before the start of term?
Please email us at kelvinsideacademy@studentsafe.com, and we’ll assist you.

What if I would like an additional stop on a bus route?
Our bus routes are audited once a year with a questionnaire sent out to every parent.  Thereafter the routes run to a tight time schedule making it unlikely that an additional stop can be incorporated.  However, if you wish to make a request, please email reception@kelvinside.org.

What to do if the school bus is running late?
Our travel companies make every effort to minimise delays, but sometimes these can be out of their control (i.e. roadworks). Wait at your stop for 10 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time.
Check the StudentSafe parent app for bus tracking and updates.
If the bus hasn’t arrived, contact the StudentSafe control centre at 0141 6738679.

What if my child misses the bus?
We recommend pupils are always at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before scheduled departure time. Vehicles should not depart before their allocated time. If you are running late, the bus may wait a very short period depending on the bus stop. You can use the Parent App to track the bus so that you can meet the bus on time.   If your child does miss the vehicle, however, they will need to make their own way to school. Please do not call Doig’s to ask them to alert the driver to wait at a later stop.

How will my child get their fob?
Fobs will be issued to every child booked onto the school bus on the first day of term.  Each registered child will be listed on the driver’s list but will not require a fob for the first morning of term when using the school bus.

What should my child do if they lose their fob?
Please contact Reception to notify them – email reception@kelvinside.org or call 0141 357 3376. They will be able to issue a new fob for an additional charge of £5.  This will be charged to the next fee invoice.
